Sport Details
Below are important details for each program. (You can register using the buttons above.)
π Track & Field (DOB Based Division)
CYO Division: Born before 12/31/2016 (regardless of school grade)
PEE WEE Division: Born between 1/1/2017 and 12/31/2020 (regardless of school grade)
PEE WEE Track will not practice after school but is eligible to participate in the pee wee portion of the meets on Sundays.
The only exception is 3rd graders. 3rd graders born after 1/1/17 can still practice with other 3rd graders but can only
participate in the Pee Wee portion of the Sunday meets.
The SCJN Track & Field team typically practices four times a week (two after school and two evenings). We understand that
students play multiple sports, so practice is offered at different times on different days. Meets are typically held on Sunday
afternoons, most often at Haverford High School (with occasional travel).
Although not confirmed by the league, meets will likely run from March 22 through April 26 (excluding Easter weekend).
Regional Championships: May 2 or 3. Area Championships: May 16 or 17. Archdiocesan Championships: May 30 or 31.
The league will confirm dates in the coming weeks.
Track & Field is for everyone β there is an event for every student-athlete. SCJN has had a lot of success in recent years.
Our girls are defending Regional, Area, and Archdiocesan Champions.
βΎ Boys Baseball (Grades 5β8)
SCJN Baseball typically practices after school at approximately 4:00 PM at Elwell Field in Ardmore
(park between Haverford College and Ardmore Avenue). Games are typically held at 4:00 PM at our home field or a neighboring school.
Because of the timing of games and practices, CYO Baseball does not usually conflict with other baseball leagues, and many players
participate in multiple leagues.
π₯ Girls Lacrosse (Grades 5β8)
Your daughter cannot play without a USA Lacrosse Membership number. If you are not already a member or if membership has expired,
please enroll at www.USALacrosse.com. Registration cannot be completed without the membership number.
It is a yearly membership and costs approximately $35.
Practices are typically held after school at SCJNβs field. Games are held at SCJN or neighboring schools at 4:00 PM.
Saintsβ Lacrosse is for all abilities. 5th & 6th grade participate in the JV Division, and 7th & 8th grade participate
in the Varsity Division.
Saintsβ Lacrosse may also be offered to girls in local parish grammar schools. Members of the parishes attending schools that do not
have a program may be eligible to participate if our teams are in need of players.
π Girls Flag Football (Grades 4β8)
SCJN Girls Flag Football is a fast-growing, no-contact spring sport for 4thβ8th grade girls (JV & Varsity divisions).
This spring will run as a clinic format with approximately 6β8 total sessions and 1β2 practices per week.
Potential Saturday morning games may be scheduled.
The CYO format is 5v5 with an emphasis on teaching fundamentals, teamwork, and fun. The schedule will be
structured to avoid conflicts with Lacrosse and Track.
Equipment Needed: Cleats and a mouthguard.
Provided: Team shirt/jersey, footballs, flag belt & flags.
π High School Coed Volleyball (Grades 9β12)
High School Volleyball is a fun COED sport for all skill levels. Games are typically held on weekday evenings and Sunday evenings
at SCJN or neighboring parishes. To be eligible, a student must have attended SCJN School or be a member of St. John Neumann or
St. Colman parishes. No experience is necessary β itβs a great time with friends.
