Detailed information about our Fall Sports is below.
To participate in a SCJN CYO sport, your child must be a student at Ss. Colman-John Neumann School or a member of either the St. John Neumann or St. Colman parishes.
Waivers are sometimes permitted for students at different schools or parishes if your school or parish does not participate in one of our sports.

COED SOCCER
JV - 5th and 6th Grades
Varsity - 7th and 8th Grades
Soccer is a unique sport for our students because girls and boys play together on the same team. Soccer is for all skill levels.
Because of the large number of athletes we expect to register, evaluations will be held for all participating to form teams. Evaluations will be held on multiple occasions in late August so as not to conflict with vacation schedules. Please attempt to make as many evaluations as possible. Last year, we had two Varsity teams and three JV teams.
Last year was a successful year for SCJN Soccer. Our JV team won the Regional Championship for the second year in a row!
Our Varsity Team qualified for the Archdiocesan Playoffs after losing a heartbreaker in the Regional Championship in extra time.
Coaches, games, and practice schedules have not been determined for the 2025 season yet.

Any coach must be cleared by the parish and the Safe Environment Coordinator before the season begins.
Practices are generally held after school and in the evenings during the week at SCJN.
Games are primarily held at SCJN's field or locally at one of the CYO schools in our region on Saturdays and Sundays.
BOYS' and GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY (1st - 8th Grades)
Cross Country is a fun sport that builds self-confidence in all of our CYO athletes.
The last two seasons have been some of the most successful seasons for SCJN.
Last year, our girls' Cross Country team won the Archdiocesan Championship for the first time in school history!
Many of our boys and girls also earned medals at the Archdiocesan Championship.
Cross Country Races are split up by age:
Cadet Boys and Girls - Born in 2011-2012 (4k race)
Minor Boys and Girls - Born in 2013-2014 (3k race)
Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2015-2016 (3k race)
Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - 2017 and younger (2k race) - because of the size of our team. SCJN only allows 1st graders and older to compete.

Meets are held on Sundays at 1pm. The first meet will be September 14th.
Archdiocesan Championships will be held on SATURDAY, October 25th. Time TBD
A child must make two meets during the year to participate in Archdiocesan Championships.
All the meets will be held at Bishop Shanahan High School.
Practices are generally held either after school or in the evenings at SCJN or Haverford College.
GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL
JV - 5th and 6th Grades
Varsity - 7th and 8th Grades
Volleyball will be entering its fourth season at Ss. Colman-John Neumann.
Last year, our girls advanced in the Regional Playoffs and showed tremendous improvement throughout the year.
Volleyball is for all skill levels. Get ready for a competitive and fun sport with great coaches.

Matches are primarily held at SCJN's gym or locally at one of the CYO schools in our region.
The matches are generally held in the evenings on Thursday and Friday and on the afternoon/evenings on Saturday and Sunday.
GIRLS' FIELD HOCKEY
JV - 5th and 6th Grades
Varsity - 7th and 8th Grades
Field Hockey is a long-standing tradition at SCJN. Last year, our girls won their 1st Archdiocesan Championship in school history!!
Many of our girls have played field hockey in high school and college.
Coaches, games, and practice schedules have not been determined for the 2025 season yet.

Practices are generally held after school at SCJN.
Games are primarily held at SCJN's field or locally at one of the CYO schools in our region after school.
The teams might participate in one or two weekend tournaments throughout the year.
