ARCHDIOCESAN CHAMPIONS!!
44 Runners

11 Medalists (including a gold medal, a silver, and three bronzes)
3 Division Trophies
1 Overall Team Champion

SCJN Cross Country had a historical day at the Archdiocesan Championships at Bishop Shanahan High School.  Our Girls won their first overall Archdiocesan Championship in school history.  There was no team that dominated the course like SCJN!  We were the only team, boys or girls, that placed in all three categories (Novice, Minor, Cadet).

We had amazing runs by so many of our athletes.  John Meenan won the 2016 race in an incredible time!  Every coach was worried when we saw him go out as fast as he did.  When he went by me on the back loop and was winning by 15 meters, I was worried he couldn't keep that pace.  He surprised us all getting stronger as the race progressed.  Great job John!

Our Minor Girls annihilated the competition, winning by 24 points, and producing two medalists.  Vivi Tornatela ran an amazing race, finishing in 3rd.  Lindsay caught a pack of girls at the end to finish 9th.  Josie Stauffer rounded out our scoring, taking 30 seconds off her best time, and breaking the 13 minute barrier.  All seven Minor Girls ran their personal best time!  Amazing!

Our Novice Girls finished in third place.  Maeve McGoldrick finished in 10th place, Cora Lesovitz was 20th, and Charlotte Meenan finished in 50th.  Cora fought through an illness throughout the entire race but she still finished strong to get us much needed points.  Blair Catterson and Ashley Lythgoe both ran their best times of the year!

Our Cadet Girls finished in third place.  Caroline Lythgoe earned a medal finishing in 11th place.  She moved up the entire race and was in 17th halfway through but never gave up.  Lexi Tornatela ran her best time of the year breaking the 18 minute barrier.  Leah took almost a minute off her best time to finish out the scoring.

Here are our medalists.  It is amazing that we had 11 medalists!
