CYO registration for SCJN's fall sports is now open! Please register for our Soccer, Cross Country, Volleyball, and Field Hockey teams at www.SCJNSaints.org. Registration will close August 27th but please register early so teams can be formed. More details about our fall sports is below.
To participate in a SCJN CYO sport, your child must be a student at Ss. Colman-John Neumann School or a member of either the St. John Neumann or St. Colman parishes. Waivers are sometimes permitted for students at different schools or parishes if your school or parish does not participate in one of our sports. Please contact the CYO Board if you are a member of another school or parish so we can start the waiver process.

COED SOCCER (5th - 8th Grades)
Soccer is a unique sport for our students because girls and boys play together on the same team. Get ready for a competitive and fun sport with great coaches. Soccer is for all skill levels. Because of the large number of athletes we expect to register, evaluations will be held for all participating. Evaluations will be held on multiple occasions over the summer so as not to conflict with vacation schedules. We expect to have two Varsity teams and two JV teams. Last year both of our Varsity teams had winning records and had multiple wins in the playoffs.

Practices and games are generally held after school and in the evenings during the week. Practices are held at SCJN's field. Games are primarily held at SCJN's field or locally at one of the CYO schools in our region.
BOYS' and GIRLS' CROSS COUNTRY (1st - 8th Grades)
Cross Country is a fun sport that builds self-confidence in all of our CYO athletes. The 2022 season was one of the most successful seasons for SCJN. Our Novice Girls were Archdiocesan Champions and we had one individual Archdiocesan Champion and numerous medalists at the Championship meet.
Cross Country Races are split up by age:
Cadet Boys and Girls - Born in 2009-2010 (4k race)
Minor Boys and Girls - Born in 2011-2012 (3k race)
Novice Boys and Girls - Born in 2013-2014 (3k race)
Sub-Novice Boys and Girls - 2015 and younger (2k race) - 1st grade and older

Meets are always held on Sundays at 1pm at the famous and world renowned Belmont Plateau Cross Country course in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. The meets usually begin the second or third week of September and end the last Sunday in October. Archdiocesan Championships are held on the last Sunday in October. A child must make two to three meets during the year to participate in Archdiocesan Championships.
Practices are held either after school or in the evenings at SCJN or Haverford College.
GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL (5th - 8th Grades)
Volleyball will be entering its second season at Ss. Colman-John Neumann. Last year's inaugural season saw tremendous improvement for our girls capping the season with a playoff win! Volleyball is for all skill levels. Get ready for a competitive and fun sport with great coaches.

Varsity - 7th and 8th Grades

GIRLS' FIELD HOCKEY (5th - 8th Grades)
Field Hockey is a long-standing tradition at Ss. Colman-John Neumann. It is one of the most successful programs in the Archdiocese. Last year our girls competed in the Archdiocesan Final Four. Many of our girls have played field hockey in high school and college. Get ready for a competitive and fun sport with great coaches. Field hockey is for all skill levels.
